Thanks Mary Anne,

I'll add that one to the list on my next visit to the vid store.

I found "What the Bleep" entertaining, but not convincing on all points. The special effects were pretty good, although they got a bit silly at times. I especially liked the conceptual presentation of the cellular, molecular and subatomic realms. The movie tended to lose its pace about 3/4 of the way through. Some of the "science" in this film is complete BS. IMHO Still, I recommend it.

Experts interviewed during the film are not identified until the very end of the movie. On the one hand, this frees the viewer from pre-judgements and allows the message to be presented as is. However, once I found out who some of the people were (I knew some of them already) I had to adjust my assessment of their statements. I can't help that.

Kind of like this place.

The path of consilience within the sciences is often the path of discovery. However, applying strict science to metaphysical exploration must be done with caution. I do it all the time, always have, for it is a much more dynamic faith system. Which I like, but it is not always comfortable when assumed truths are constantly evaluated and must evolve with time and new experience. I have to discern when my scientific applications to spiritual questions are real, or simply metaphors that allow my mammalian brain to cope with deeper issues. A parable, if you will, to soothe an insatiable appetite for understanding.
