lack of absolute authority to be able to tell others what is the good for them.

Of course, those on the left define this as individualism and decry the rightest ability to always be on the same page in defending the party line. After all it is easier to be a Republican because it avoids the necessity of thinking for yourself.

Liberals can't tell others what is, or is not good for them. Liberalism requires people be allowed to decide this for themselves. Abortion, hair length, etc. Neo-cons absolutely know what is good for everyone and are willing to change the Constitution to force their version of the good on everyone, and use the threat of punishment to back them up.

Personally, I am happy with the problems of the Left.
