Yeah your title should say "The problem with the Democrats is more mental laziness than anything else".

The Left haven't changed much- same old same old. In one segment the Left is the establishment/conservative party- but they are conservatives of Socialism/marxism- not conservative of traditional America of democratic rule, small federal govt and strict constitution and ruled by law. Socialism is having "a king" which is comprised of a committee/parliament, whose will is executed by bureaucrats. This sits above the people- who are peons which can dream that some day they can have power by being elected to rule. But the practical & realistic peons should not really dream this, because the the vastly intelligence governing body shall make the peon's life enjoyable enough within the legal cage built by the noble govt. Other side of Left is the radical segment- the nihilist. Which include such notions that any social order is a curse. A Socialism that actually "worked" would be hated, but at same time comfort their elitist worldwide. Humans are ants; humans are simply biological machines, etc. Though there are rare exceptions, these nihilists generally don't believe in God or spiritual existence. And nihilist seeking power believe in immortality through lasting human artifacts- fame, buildings, or whatever.
