re: In my experience XP is the best yet.

The only problem I've had is when I had a bad printer driver that slowed everything down...But I remember having a similiar problem when I was running Windows 2000 on a different machine. But when I deleted all of my set-ups for the many network printers I had set-up (I seem to collect printer set-ups for some reason which I won't go into) an and then re-installed only the printers that I use most often, everything seemed to go back to screemingly fast as if XP was fresh out of the box... So far that has been the only problem I've had.

For what its worth, it seems to me that XP is much more robust than Win2000. After using it for a few months, I wouldn't go back to Win2000.

If you do switch to XP, I would spring for XP Pro. It has beter security and remote computing possibilities. Like all Microsoft upgrades, you'll need to re-learn some things as it is organized a little different, but its fairly straightforward and easy to get used to.

I've only started to tap the surface on XP, and admittedly I'm no expert on 2000. So do some more research and let me know what you think. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts as I've been elected network administrator by my employer (and they didn't teach me this stuff in CPA school).

Warning: I only know enough to be dangerous to myself and my PC.
