The problem isn't speed.
At some point, the registry and other files get bollixed up or corrupted to the point where the Blue Screen of Death comes often enough to make work very difficult. The digital version of free radicals screwing up cell function. Registry cleanups like Norton aren't that effective, and half the time I don't know what they're doing anyway.
