Well reasoned argument does not necessarily require research and linked proof. I think I made a pretty good point about this hurricaine business, the first time it came up:

I pointed out that It would not be in Bush's (either of them) interest to underestimate (or cover up) the damage. They earn points for helping folks recover. The greater the disaster, the more grateful the people are for such help, and the more heroic the pose they can effect.
