but, one by one anyway.....
- Do you think France will enter the war just because Kerry is president, or because there's money to be made? If so, do we want allies fighting at our side on those venal terms?
Do you recall how we were trying to get Turkey in the coalition? Mega-billions in "aid".
Do you recall how Egypt, Turkey and several other countries were on our side in GW1? same answer.
Did you have a problem with those "venal terms"?
One of your arguments against France and Russia's oppostion to the war was the loss of their oil contracts (never mind that they would never have collected). Is it so far fetched, especially with that mind-set, that throwing a couple of oil-development carrots that way would not work?
- Do you think if France enters the war, that America still will not be suffering 90 percent of the casualties?
That would depend on the level of support. I expect American forces would still be at or over 90% of any coalition, going down only over the years as more international support (read ROW/UN - not France) came in.
- Do you think the insurgents will care if more Europeans are in the fight?
Not one iota. Not the flippin point either.
Bush hasn't got a hope of getting more countries to sign up. Kerry may have.
But then, if all you got out of the speech was "I'll magically get France in", then I really can't help you.

- Best Speech Kerry's made in a long while
- Just out of curiosity...If Kerry wants the help of other nations, why is his campaign trying to talk Australia into leaving the coalition? (n/t)
- He keeps claiming he can get other nations to help...
- Boiled down...
- Kerry believes in the tooth fairy
- the question is, can he stay on message for the next 43 days?
