Iraq would implode if the US pulled out.
within 2 months you would have all out civil war between the Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds.
It would not be pretty.
It would be the worst crisis in the middle east since the Yom Kippur war - worse than Labanon, worse than Palestine, worse than the overthrow of the Shah.

I don't believe we went in for altruistic reasons. We do have to stay for them.
