Mary Anne, the Democratic Party has a long and glorious history over the past fifty years of playing fast and loose with the process. Chicago and other "machine cities" were practically a standing joke on this subject.

Can we not pretend that there is no precedent for this sort of thing?

Doesn't it bother you at all that almost every proposal designed to prevent people from voting fraudulently, ranging from IDs to examining the voter rolls, is violently opposed by the Democrats?
