It's not just about Iraqis dying violently - it's an increase in deaths since the invasion, which could result from bombings, gunfire, poor sanitation, inadequate medical facilities, etc, etc.
And what the hell does Habeas Corpus have to do with anything?? This isn't a trial, it's a statistical study.
The rightists here spout huge numbers of deaths due to Saddam - have all those bodies been found?
