Americans have made their bed, now they have to sleep in it.

I think Bush's re-election is a continuation of bad things for the US and the world, and I can't see how he is going to get out of Iraq with any degree of success, patch up the world relationships that are critical for all the battles that are coming up (including the environment, overpopulation, balances of power, terrorism, religious fundamentalism of all stripe, and energy shortages, among others), and keep the US afloat economically and socially. I'm not sure how Kerry might have accomplished these things but I think he would have had a better chance than Bush.

Bush's victory is a victory of fear - fear of terrorism (which in my opipnion is greatly over-rated), fear of foreigners, fear of change, fear of progress, fear of "God".

Osama bin Laden (along with other terrorists) is playing this fear like a violin, and Bush and the US electorate bought it - and if things don't change, ObL's goal of bankrupting the US economy will come true. The USSR was brought down because it overspent itself - I hope the US doesn't do the same.
