I can't help but agree with you LJ...........

....your perspective is my perspective and half of every US citizen's.
The other half is caught up in idealogy, nationalism and religion; and I guess that's okay because it is THEIR form of reality. And mine is mine.
Bush has become Big Daddy, born-again, reformed and resolute.
He looks strong and talks a good game even though his record is dismal.

I've dreamt about this man twice during his administration and in both my dreams he was a happy, almost delightful person to meet. And although Laura reminds me of the perfect Stepford wife; she has a calm presence about her that is almost magical. (Maybe this has something to do with family members being so close to the pharmaceutical industry....;~)

Bush has taken on the "terrorists" and the world.
God had BETTER be on his side!

It will take me awhile to accept we have to have another four years of this, but maybe he can finally get down to some of the issues here at home. He has already got everything HE wanted, his tax breaks, secrecy acts that protect his group of cronies and his administration, and all the contracts have been doled out to his best campaign supporters; so there is very little else for him to do to preserve HIS power. The people just cemented it. And he has lived his life under a microscope these past few years, and he knows what he CAN, and CAN NOT get away it.
And did Rove push nationalism and fear tactics to get it? I think so.

And these younger people, they fed right into it. They haven't been allowed to see the REAL images of the war, and our soldiers coming home in body bags. To them, pre-emptive war and bringing democracy at the end of a sword around the world, is like a virtual computer game to them. They might feel their trust is broken, when Bush re-enacts the draft by executive order on January 30, 2005.

I'm not a sore loser, just sore.
I'm not as optimistic as the other 50% of this country are.
I think I'll go lick my psychic wounds now.
