This may very well be the stupidest conspiracy theory I've every heard....

Yeah, I'm sure thereâ€™s a massive government cover up to restrict the number of color photos from mars.

What Doug showed you was just full color panoramas. The rovers regularly send back single color frames of specific targets. Sometimes they even do better then 3 color and use a lot more bandwidth to send many different filters to do spectral analysis on.

NASA/JPL would love to send back more color photos, but there are limits and tradeoffs to everything.
