MOABs on Fallujah

We have elected to fight this war in a manner which does as little damage to non-combatants and their property as humanly possible. This is costing American lives, and the sacrifice does not seem to impress the shit-slingers in the least.

In this mode, America does not drop MOABs on Fallujah. Our Marines go in, and fight and die street by street, so that a lot of people who aren't insurgents don't get killed unnecessarily.

If we had flattened Fallujah in April in a single night, thousands of Iraqis would be dead who are alive now. Probably including Zarqawi and a lot of other bastards holed up there. And maybe a hundred or so American soldiers would be alive now that aren't today.

An air war, bombing targets from the stratosphere, normally has few to no casualties on our side. Idiots have a lot of fun pointing out how Clinton's Bosnia air war didn't kill as many Americans as the Iraq War has. Bosnian casualties? Reply hazy--ask again later.

But that's not the kind of war we're fighting in Iraq. So Americans are on the ground, making choices, and dealing with Iraqis face to face. Killing and capturing some. Saving others. And a lot of them are dying.

Once we decided to go to war, a decision was made to risk American lives to save Iraqi ones. And a lot of people are either too immature or too stupid to understand this.
