You might want to refresh your memory concerning Newt Gingrich's remarks about the UN. Also, Ronald Reagan, Phyllis Schlafly, Jesse Helms ...

Not to mention the many groups to the right of center who have, since I was a little girl, gone on about the UN trying to take over the world. These would also be the people who think that FDR was surrounded by Communists. (This was actually true at Yalta...)
