The U.N.'s ambitions to become a de facto world government (a benign one, of course) have hardly been a big secret. Many people there would dearly love to set up systems where the U.N. controlled all the military actions (using other people's troops), and ideas like a "world income tax" pop up and are shot down on a fairly regular basis.
As for Roosevelt and communists, do a little research. He was not surrounded by communists, but there were more than a few in close proximity, and in positions of power. Under Truman, as well. The Venona documents never really got the press they deserved.
Of course, to hear modern liberals talk, there was never a single communist in America that existed outside McCarthy's imagination.
Of course, the communists themselves tell a different story. Here's a bit of history, literally through rose-colored glasses.

- All their bases are belong to us (n/t)
- Fine. Then maybe the U.N. should start remembering who's doing the heavy lifting.
