...when the Truth is supposedly hidden? Who's to say it's deception? Some is doubtless old-style misinformation but if there was anything to electrogravity we'd see it in use now. Conspiracy theories are horse-shit because there's no way of verifying any and every loony and not-so-loony bit of paranoiac speculation.
There was a series of books by "Commander X" which claimed the DoD was in cohoots with the Devil - disguised as little Grey aliens, of course - and it was all a demonic conspiracy. What separates that sort of nut-job reasoning from less loopy claims about recovered saucers at Roswell and the like?
In the whole "Conspiracy Industry" - which is what it is, a collusion of cynical and/or delluded publishers and their caged loonies - there is no way of distinguishing one theory from another, one more outrageous claim from another. Hence I have had a gut-full of such meaningless pissing in the wind and I am waiting for all you Saucer-Nuts and UFoologists to produce some HARD evidence.
I am sure I speak for 99% of us here, writers and lurkers alike.
