Obviously, increasing the taxes on GM and Ford, and raising the price of American goods overseas, would do wonders for this situation.
I just pulled this off Yahoo News. First story in the list.
China's advancement into a major economic player has been inevitable for decades. The country contains a huge chunk of the Earth's population, and unless you expected them to live off subsistence farms for the next hundred years, this isn't a surprise. Am I supposed to believe that if Al Gore was president, somehow none of this would be happening? That somehow there would have been no recession? The idea that tax cuts caused the economic downturn is inane, but I still hear it once in a while.
I've commented many times on areas where I don't think Bush has done well. Immigration. Trade policy mistakes. Failing to hold down domestic spending. Bad policy on airline security.
On the other hand, some people here would rather pull their fingernails out than believe that Bush can do anything at all right. You tell me who's more obsessed.
