Migawd. A bit of perspective, maybe.
All true. Saddam seems to have attempted an assassination plot against the First Bush.
And Saddam repeatedly attempted to shoot down airplanes patrolling the no-fly zone.
Granted. AND,
The US was trying to kill Saddam.
The US was funding operations to overthrow that regime.
The US was repeatedly violating the no-fly provisions by attacking Iraq all over the place, unrelated to the no-fly zone.
So, given the bad behavior on both sides, there is room for piety on either. And, it sure seems to me, no excuse for war equivalent, even remotely equivalent, to Germany declaring war on the US.
