I have absolutely no argument with the origins of much of our thinking in Classical thought. The Renaissance was also largely based on this.
But I believe that "Moses" (and I don't agree with all his opinions either)* was talking about more recent history, and Europe as it has been in the last century or so.
When we discuss Muslim culture, one can point out correctly that the Muslims were the repository of much of advanced Western thought for many years, while Europe was picking fleas off itself. But that was a very long time ago, and isn't that relevant to most of the Muslim nations we're dealing with now.
Modern-day Europe is hovering on the edge of collectivist irrelevancy. Don't know if it's going to go over or not, but I do know that the EU is run by bureaucracy-worshippers of the first order. I still don't put England in the same category as France, Germany, Spain, or others. Don't think they do either.
*Ayn Rand had a bee in her bonnet about women not being suitable to be president, one of a few things I thought she was full of crap on. One would think Maggie Thatcher, among others around the world, would have pretty much put the kibosh on that theory.
