You know what, Tony?

I begin to think that, the closer a liberal comes to claiming a valid point, the more shrill they get. We must be wrong. We must be wrong all the time, and venal, stupid and dangerous as well.

The power that this administration has is based on their redefinition of ideas and ideals that Americans hold sacred. Anything that pours water on the Presidential feet of clay must be attacked and (this is important) diverted.

I note that neither Tom nor Ed has said that your facts are wrong. That's not their point. Their point is, people who don't like Bush are bad. Their point is, people are not lining up to sing Bush's praises, so their voices are noisome. We are obnoxious and disliked. ;)

Hm. I must keep my temper and remain focused on the main idea. One problem liberals have is that we are easily distracted and led away from what we need to get across by outrageous, but irrelevant, accusations. In this way we allow them to define not only the argument, but also who we are. We know who we are. It will be a long road back to recognition of who we really are by people who stake out the middle ground. We can only get there by cleaving to our principles and fighting the name-calling with facts.
