The original Star Wars IV (New Hope) was one of my favorite all time movies. Star Wars V (Empire Strikes Back) was slightly worse than IV and Star Wars VI (Return of the Jedi) was slightly worse than V (the teddy bears were utterly noxious). Star Wars I was significantly worse than Star Wars VI (Jar Jar was repellant) and Star Wars II was easily the worst of the bunch. I see a trend here.
There is no ambiguity about what Star Wars III will be about, e.g. we know that Annakin turns into Darth Vader after almost being killed by Obi wan Kenobi during a laser duel. We know that Luke's mom dies after giving birth to Luke and his sister. The only element of mystery is the subplot of Palpatine turning into the Emperor.
Pixar and Blue Sky have already exceeded Industrial Light and Magic for producing quality CGI. ("Robots" was excellent). CGI is no longer a compelling reason to watch a Star Wars movie.
Logically there is no reason for me to waste good money on Star Wars III. Can I avoid the wretched thing? Am I strong enough? I feel the dark side trying to seduce me.....
