I hated "The Empire Strikes Back" comparitively speaking. I enjoyed it but thought the DV LS connection sucked. Liked return of the Jedi, but none of them compared remotely to the impact of the first just like Jurassic Park. I liked episode 1 most likely due to the long absence and liked 2 about the same. Didn't care for either as much as ROJ, but they weren't a dissappointment either.

I consider LOR far better at building and sustaining the story and that was no minor feat despite the populatiry of the books given their length. I skipped most of the Frodo Sam sections until after finishing the "exciting" threads. Jackson made me care about that side of the story too. I'd definitely rate LOR above Star Wars as a series, but would have to give the original episode credit for having the most mind blowing special effects compared to the times.

Would love to see a real hard scifi trilogy like Ringworld, A known space series, or a good version of Robinson's Mars trilogy.
