Well, actually...

I've read "Unfinished Tales" and "The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien". An issue I have with "Unfinished Tales" and "The Silmarillion" is: How much of this was written by J.R.R. Tolkien versus his son Christopher Tolkien? I accept that the "The Silmarillion" was written by J.R.R. Tolkien and edited by his son. Supposably various forms of "The Silmarillion" predated the "The Hobbit" and the LotR. I do not accept the various works written by Christopher Tolkien after "Unfinished Tales" as the genuine article. Christopher is trying to make a little bit of money which is quite alright. Unfortunately he's not up to the same standard of story telling as his dad.
