I'm so sick of these CEO's worried about their short term bonuses and not their companies long term prospects. All these joint ventures with China are obviously stupid long term. The Chinese get the technology forever while the profits for the overseas corporations are most likely limited to 5 to 10 years. I have no doubt the Chinese will be able to improve on the technology. If the produce skilled engineers and scientists one third our rate they still match us in total number. That is the biggest driver of technological advance, not a few gifted geniuses. With France and Europe they can buy our technology through buying American companies then fall behind for the opposite reason. A real EU would moderate that, but any culture that disdains truly free competition is doomed to be beaten by one that thrives on it.
