It is so CUTE when you try to play scientifically literate!

I don't know how anyone lets you near expensive laser equipment-- even to clean it. Heck, a free-electron laser already filters waves through a spatially variable magnetic field causing the electrons to radiate.

Hmmm I had to do a presentation on Free Electron Lasers back in school... Free electron lasers work by sending a high energy beam of electrons through a spatially periodic arrangement of magnets, called a 'wiggler'.These electrons are the gain medium. The frequency is determined by the energy of the electrons...

I have seen a Free Electron Laser and was, albeit tangentially, involved in work assosciated with one... (My memory is fuzzy on this, but I Think a coworker was involved in finding a way to use a short pulse laser to create a tight pulse of electrons to seed the FEL with... I also did modeling of the relativistic behavior of electrons in strong coherent light fields...

free-electron laser already filters waves is a phrase that makes no sense...

What is your experience on the topic...? ;-)

You've obviously not learned much of anything about wave traps or magnetic fields.

I can think of several different things one could call a "wave trap"- none of which make any sense in this context... since you have not defined the term, I have to assume you dont know what you are talking about...

:) Have you taken ONE course on electro magnetism? Would you like me to sit down and count the number of courses I have taken that dealt solely or in part with the topic? How often the topic comes up in my work?

The Van Allen belts themselves are giant electromagnetic wave traps, powered by the earth, that capture high energy particles streaming from the sun.

The magnetic field of the earth traps and diverts charged particles- so what? WHAT does this have to do with gamma rays?

Gamma radiation, begins unpolarized as it emits from the sun. However, like all radiation, it can be polarized.

Again, so what- GRB's have nothing to do with the sun... they are, for the most part thank god, extragalactic-

Polarization, means the waves no longer move in an unpredictable path, but are now predictable.

OK, now this is ABSOLUTE gibberish... I am pretty sure that anyone that paid attention in high school physics would realize that is nonsense.

One can polarize gamma wavelength radiation most efficiently by scattering.

Again, so what?

Why dont you explain how ANY of this relates to the question at hand?

From what I gather you are trying, very ineptly, to claim the van allen belt can protect the Earth from gamma rays... and that somehow polarization has something magical to do with it...

Unfortunately, I have neither the time nor the inclination to properly educate you in quantum mechanics.

ROTFLMAO... oh PLEASE do try... just take it to Flame or offtopic- No need to waste more space here easily ripping your bullshit pseudoscience to pieces...

Many folks here don't know diddly about hard science.
And that is what you are desperately counting on...
