Come on over and take a look at sustainablog... many, if not most, of the solutions I discuss are coming out of the private sector. While many of us in the environmental movement are guilty of thinking only in terms of big-government solutions, there's an awful lot of private initiative going on in this area. As I said in the original post, there are quite a few concrete examples of socially/environmentally-conscious capitalism that demonstrate the profitability and environmental effectiveness of such approaches. Part of the problem (and, I know, this is cliche') is the media -- the more innovative solutions just don't get the coverage...
