Maybe they're beating the dead horses because the live ones are too difficult to ride. I'm a Democrat and don't particularly like President Bush. However Bush recognized the immediate danger of Islamic fascism and took measures that he knew would be very unpopular. I admire Bush's courage (rare in a politician) as much as I despise the cowardice and hypocrisy of the far left.
Refer to Wretchard's Three Conjectures:

Using Wretchard's language, we're currently in our "Golden Hour" in terms of dealing with this problem without resorting to mega-deaths. If we go back into "ostrich mode" as we were before 9/11, this problem will not go away. All that changes is the "Golden Hour" expires and mega-deaths become our only option. Liberals, pacificists, etc. like to wail about the immorality of war in Iraq. In the context of the "Golden Hour", I see the liberals and pacificists as the ones who are morally challenged.

Beating dead horses
The whole thread (41 posts)
- Words of "impeachment" surface
- More sillyness. The votes are simply NOT there.
- re: Words of "impeachment" surface by anti-semites
- Drivel. There are absolutely NO GROUNDS for impeachment. (n/t)
- Geez, where have you been?
