I said NOTHING about legally forcing the issue. I said that I think it was unnecessary for Michael to do what he did, and wreck several lives for the perceived wishes (no will, nothing in writing) of someone who was, according to everyone here, dead, dead, dead, dead.
I've read the testimony, and the trial records, and I know how remarks Terri made years ago were shoved and pushed into the equivalent of an ironclad living will. God forbid random statements I make watching television or hearing news stories are given this kind of legal power after I die.
This wasn't a legal will, Mary Anne. It wasn't signed by attorneys. It wasn't even something written on a napkin. It was Michael and his relatives remembering things Terri had said long before her illness. I'm not the one stretching a point, here.
