Knocks the slats out of the whole idea of wills.
If making the family happy is all that matters, why bother with wills at all? If the person is dead, who cares what he or she wanted?
If a person can't dispose of something as personal as his or her own body, then specifying the destination of possessions and assets after they aren't in the picture is just silly.
If a person's spouse, who is recognized as legal partner, guardian, and co-owner of property in many states, is not allowed to make decisions about the person's body, the idea of making decisions about disposal of assets is moot, to say the least.
