Right on target

I know I entrust my own wife to know best. My mother, who I love dearly, does not know me as well as the woman to whom I have been married to for the past 27 years.

Terri Schiavo was an adult, no longer accountable to her parents. They may have a stake, but their stake is far less both emotionally and legally than her husband's. That's why in every state in the union, its the spouse the law turns to first for guardianship.

Tom's perspective is colored by the propaganda of right wing media pundits. For some funny reason he believes that the parent's "rights" are more important than the husband's, and even more important;y...Terri's. The courts found sufficient evidence to determine that Terri Schiavo would not have wanted to have been kept alive in a PVS state. Her parents wanted to violate her wishes for their own selfish purposes. Its the husband here who has acted most honorably.
