Suppose I was discussing abuse of traffic cameras by police and other authorities.
Someone pipes up with "well, I guess your solution is to get rid of traffic laws and let people drive on both sides of the road."
That would be an idiot answer. So was that one.
Bowser pointed out a real problem with the current regulation model. Even if we assume honesty, there will always be fallability.
There are models worth looking into that would encourage competition in the field of regulation as well as those being regulated. There is the experience of history, associations, and other things that dealt with these problems before someone decided only the Federal Government was the answer. I doubt it's worth the effort trying to discuss any of that here.
