What is BS?

I'm just making the point that tiny amounts of some substances have a much more profound effect than enormous quantities of others. Most people throw around terms like "milligram" and they haven't a clue just how big or little that is.

They also don't realize that since some substances are denser than others, x milligrams of something else. can take up a lot less space than x milligrams of something else.

What ties volume and mass in the metric system is that 1000 grams (a kilogram) of water takes up a liter of space, or 1000 cubic centimeters.

Salt weighs 2.16 times as much as an equal volume of water.
