Anomalism and OT

Turn off topic into the place where anomalism is tolerated.

It sort-of is, along with anything else that's not a current event and not a computer issue.

However, anyone who posts anomalism there had better be prepared to:

a) have the concepts, theories and evidence challenged by other posters;

b) abide by the rules as far as not attempting to turn OT into Insultopia;

c) defend the concepts, theories and evidence in a credible way; and

d) not post the same stuff over and over and over and over and over and... well, you get the picture. Spam is spam. New approaches, new information, new supporters, new takes on old ideas -- all are different twists on an already discussed concept. Repeating the same thing for the eighty-eighth time is not. But we will cross that face on Mars when we come to it.

Come to think of it, I suppose c) is optional. One can also be quiet, or nonsensical, but nonsense will show itself for what it is. Especially to this audience. And I will listen to complaints. Free speech matters, but the community matters too.

There is nothing so dangerous that it can't be talked about. (My opinion.) There's also a lot of danger not talking about things, because then they can't be challenged and either accepted, conditionally accepted, refuted, or discredited. (Also my opinion.) OT is a good place for that, because it doesn't disturb the signal-to-noise ratio of Space for those who come here looking for a reasonably professional environment.

The other moderators pretty much have carte blanche from me to ferry anything not a flame over to OT. I collect lots of materials IRL, so I'm comfortable with that, and even though I don't do it often, I can shush with the best of them.
