Hi Ken -

Congratulations on your work with the Boy Scouts. I wonder if they're doing trips to Space Camp or to NASA facilities? By the way, the NASA educational outreach office has free posters available for use at these functions - they make great prizes for schoolwork as well.

I noticed the same thing you noticed years ago when looking at some second graders' space pictures at an aviation open house at a local airport. Since they're all of scouting age now, your observations are pretty much in line with what I found then.

Its unfortunate that no Mars Society member showed up at your clinic, but I doubt if it would have had much effect. Your scouts are undoubtedly using the internet to watch the MERs, and they have a really good idea of exactly what Mars is like, ideas much much better than the ideas we had when we were their age.

Once again, thanks for your work with the scouts.
