I'd hazard a guess that maybe half of the ones in the UK are manmade.
But not all. It still remains a worldwide phenomena.
They show up in countries where crop circles never make the news and the designs are in the middle of nowhere on private land and no tracks are found anywhere in the field. There are magnetic and nodal anomalies and often strange lights and animal behaviour are experienced the same night as they go down.
Having studied them for nearly two decades now, having actually been in one and knowing a good deal of the researchers as I do, I can positively vouch for the unusual situations that surround this phenomena.
There are stories of flattened wheat circles going back many generations both in England and Canada. I think they are done at times to evoke a higher awareness in us, and could even possibly be a type of language from an advanced civilization gently nudging <us.>
