I couldn't help but notice you didn't have anything to say about my post except an allusion to the throwaway line about Texan Presidents. The topic is Bush's comment echoing the comments of the Vietnam War era, and the historical lesson Bush has failed to learn about how that circular reasoning forms a one-way path that leads to disaster.

It's not easy for those of us not sustained by blind faith to figure out what, if anything, is going through the minds of the remarkably secretive Bushies. Bush has never articulated an actual plan to win the--what is it this week? Ah--The Struggle Against Violent Extremism ("SAVE"--isn't that cute?). Does he have a plan and it's just secret? Or should we take the public statements at face value and conclude that Bush is just drifting along with no idea what to do?
