re: the "plan"

I'm still wondering exactly what you and others mean by a "plan."

Right now, I know what the current tactical plan is, primarily involving cutting supply lines to Syria and a few other things in southern Iraq, and have been following specific military named operations to carry it out. I know what the political plan is, and have seen it change when situations changed, just like the military plan does. These plans are described--as much of them as can be made public--in extensive military press conferences, and in frequent policy statements. Sometimes I even link to them here. I suspect few people read them.

Bush has repeatedly outlined what needs to happen before we can leave Iraq. He has also pointed out that you can't put a timeline on this. Grownups in the audience understand this.

"What's your plan to win this war, Mr. President?"

What are you expecting? A loose-leaf notebook with "The Plan" written on the cover? Better not be more than three pages so reporters' eyes don't glaze over.

Or is this something like the Democratic approach to the economy? If you keep saying the economy sucks over and over again, nobody's going to pay attention to the indicators?
