These immigrants came seeking a better life. They have jobs. They pay rent for places that you would not let your dog live in. This is unjust and inhumane.
We have seen the same scenario played out over and over in the US: the Irish, the Italians, the Poles, the Jews of Eastern Europe, the Puerto Ricans, and now the Mexicans and the Asians. None of those groups were brought in for the entertainment of anyone, though they spent (and spend, in the case of current groups) many years working for peanuts in substandard conditions. We owe our fire code to such conditions, famously illustrated in the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire in New York, in which immigrant girls, trapped inside by employers who locked the doors to prevent them from taking breaks, jumped to their deaths rather than be burned alive.
But of course, as you only see things through the filter of race, you would not recognize a pattern of poverty and displacement that results from war, famine, and other manmade disasters.
Maybe if you cut the eyeholes in your hood so they let in a little more light, you might get the bigger picture.
