How much aid could they need? 50 billion in immediate aid translates to $50,000 each. A family of 5 homeless people could find pretty nice digs for $250,000. And that's just the Federal government's response! What about the Red Cross and all the other private and public relief efforts? What is Lousiana putting forward or do they expect the Federal Government to bail them out?

Its a terrible disaster. It shouldn't be a winning lottery ticket for the State of Louisiana and the City of New Orleans.

Give the victims a bus ride somewhere else in the USA, and then give them a substantial amount of money that will help mitigate their suffering. That will enable them to re-build their lives in a new community that is not flood and Hurricane prone.
