Have you ever been right on Iraq?

First, the nuclear stuff. Mushroom cloud, and all that. You believed that.

Then other WMDs. Hook, line and sinker.

Iraq was no threat to the US, and the leaders who took the country to war knew it.

Next, the US would be greeted as a liberator. Piece of cake. No one is going to die, according to the Prez.

Then it was "democracy", with a "constitution" which does not unify the country. A "constitution" which leaves out one of the main groups. Not "democracy" at all. Voting does not make a democracy. The Eastern European countries voted.

(Now if the amendments were along the lines of the US Bill of Rights, which served the US well until Bush came along, that would be a good thing.)

So, my friend, when have you been right? On anything substantive?

Iraq a "prosperous secular democracy". One would love that, but it can't happen. For one, they have had their only real resource taken away.

Second, they are three different groups which have only been held together by a strongman, much as Yugoslavia was held together by Tito. Is fallingl apart with only 160,000 foreign troops trying to subjugate them. The oil fields were secured, though.

Iraq is a tragedy, and there are no victors. The pilots who are killing civilians - are they "winners"? I'm sure they are personally brave, honorable and patriotic. But "winning"?

Preemptive war? Nope, an oil grab. Plain and simple. No other explanation passes the smell test.
