A poor, third-world country being invaded by the US and Britain wouldn't and didn't have a chance with conventional warfare. To say they could put up a fight is silly - a straw man if ever there was one.
So, Iraq was "conquered", EXCEPT that they did what they could to resist, and it's still ongoing. Couldn't fight a frontal war, obviously.
Yer crowing is a bit like the Super Bowl champs playing a rural 6-man high school football team. That has been being beat up by the champs for 11 years besides.
To predict victory and lthen claim credit for it is disingenuous even for conservatives.
If you'll recall, Cheney said it was so bad we'd be welcomed, Bush said there would be no on killed, etc.
And Rumsfeld said he "didn't do quagmires". No, but the poor bastards who work for him ARE.
So, a piece of advice. Stick with the folks who have been correct so far. And it ain't conservatives or this administration.
