Why not just try to get along with them?
Chinese people I've met have a strong work ethic, they give what they get, including good deeds. If we do china a good turn, I'm sure they will repay it. Americans tend to focus on the bad stuff, and fail to see the good stuff. Think of what china might come up with if they did that to you!
The fact is, every society has rules, and the people who live there know the rules. Same as here. They made their rules. We made our rules. It's the reason why national boundaries exist in the first place. Differences in values don't lead to war as you seem to think, they simply indicate that country boundaries (and other boundaries) should be maintained for the time being.
