I read all the posts (I think) that led up to this mess and, as always, Mary Anne presented her case in a reasoned manner, never disguising her own feelings and sticking up for other groups she felt you impugned. From what I could see you began the labeling game and she responded in kind. I'm no fan of the Catholic Church by the way. As a matter fact I really find no religion with enough redeeming good points to make up for the potential of abuse they all present. However I, like Mary Anne, have numerous friends, relatives, and acquaintances that are Catholic that seem to live good and non-judgmental lives. I also have many friends that are Jewish, Mormon, Methodist, etc. When you start equating particular human traits based on membership or past membership of a religious sect, you're crossing the line and she was correct to challenge you on that.

Since this is the Flame area, I felt it was a good chance to give you a taste of your own medicine. How does it feel?

Oh, by the way, Mary Anne has come to be a good friend and we have corresponded by email. We have many similar interests including writing, education, politics, and music. Was your comment about that somehow supposed to be damning? I see it as a point of pride.
