I would have liked to do that long ago but simply cannot allow attacks to go unanswered. In your case only a nutcase would call your post an 'attack' but by now I was so fed up that I was taking on all punters.

This whole thing hasn't been helped by the fact that I have had to endure constantly 2 shrieking small dogs right outside my window since my return here last week. Even though this is a long term problem, I used to like these dogs but to me they are now nothing but health-threatening pests. I spent months (and my own money on earplugs and anti-barking devices) trying to control it, and coming back to it from a holiday was just the worst possible thing.

Still, they're quiet now. That's because I spoke up to the neighbours - and succeeded in keeping the tone civil while making very clear that the limit has been reached.

This left me with a HUGE chip not to mention shaking nerves, and by a process of transference I may well have come to regard some of those here as little better than those shrieking dogs.

Anyway I hope that's all over now - both where I live, and here too.
