Daniel, I know you don't like advice, but here's mine.
A simple 3 step program.
1. Drink a big glass of STFU and remove the dumpsterload of chips from your shoulder.
I've see over reactions and I've seen obsessions. Rarely have they occurred quite as blatantly as they have in you right now.
2. Walk away for a while and come back when you're calm.
3. Stop looking for hidden motivations where none exist.
