A few comments

Class warfare and wealth redistribution has killed every nation that has fully engaged in it. America has been wealthy enough to dabble in it. So far.

The idea that income has been "redistributed" upward implies that there is an income "pool" that is handed out to one person or another. This is an odd mindset, but common in liberals. Income is redistributed when it is taken from the people who have earned it and given to those who haven't. In America, only the government and muggers can do this.

Your source at EPI likes to throw around the word "unfettered" in reference to markets, which is a bit of a straw man in modern America. Our market system is "unfettered" only when you compare it to the vast number of more socialist nations. If our ancestors had been informed that we would be routinely paying a third to half our income in taxes, and that large businesses would need entire staffs to deal with regulations, they wouldn't have believed it.

The numbers on Europe are a bit dated. I notice nobody gloats about the Euro any more, and if we had their economic statistics, they would have impeached Bush by now.

Almost two thirds of our Federal budget is pure income redistribution to the poor and elderly. And for the socialists, who are even now eager to nationalize health care, it's never enough.

I'd like to see some sources on entitlements being "cut" since the 90s. Show me one outlay that has not exceeded inflation.
