Fortunately, the US isn't Iran and has separation of church and state

Firstly, thank you for not playing dumb like alcaray.

Now, your scenario of a breakdown of separation of church and state (which I know is constantly being tested and debated in US society) doesn't need to happen in order for some infidel hater to want to kill you. Clue: being branded an "infidel" will have little to do with Christianity or separation of church and state in the US. I've heard of only one prominent "Christian" advocating another's death recently (Robertson/Chavez), but that wasn't because of Chavez' atheism or "infidelism" (infidelity?). I've never heard any Christian use the word "infidel", in fact. OTOH, imams in the Middle East regularly preach hate and death to those who simply do not believe, the "infidels". We know from 9/11 hate can reach the US with fatal results without church and state becoming one in the US. I don't see a threat from a New World Order of neo-con born-again Christians as much as from the likes of the "Mad Mullahs" of Iran.

That's about all I have to say.
