The wonder of nature..........

......the wonder of YOU. Can you experience yourself as part of nature?
If you can, then I would say you are in communion with God, right there; whatever that is.

I just got back from the King Tut exhibit in Ft. Lauderdale and walked through with an Egyptologist who explained to me more about the "religions" of ancient Egypt and the monotheism that came from Ahkenaton, who established his rule by worshipping the Sun God Aten.
(There was also an incredible statue of the bust and head of Ahkenaton halfway through the exhibit raised on high by itself at least 25' in the air on a pedestal. Very commanding, breathtaking almost....but then so was most of the exhibit!)

He wrote poetry about the LIFE created by the sun, therefore it became HIS god, and that of his people. (He is also believed to be King Tut's father.) Shortly after King Tuts death around the age of twenty, Horemheb succeeded the throne and brought back the pantheistic gods, and went about erasing and effacing all of Ahkenatens' likenesses from temples and statues. So you had political jockeying back and forth. It all started when Ahkenaten's father, Amenhotep III was tired of the power of the Amun priests, and set about to change the religion.

So, they were arguing about religion back then, one of the greatest cultures that ever lived. We are no better. Wars have been fought in"god's" name. People have lived and died. I think religion, if anything, is honoring those we thought were smarter than all the rest.

I would hope that those of you who are atheists or agnostics, that you at least ACKNOWLEGE the energy or life force that created you and that you can find your way in the maze of life to a belief that has MEANING for you.
