Research the matter. "Bird flu" ain't particularly dangerous to humans, yet.
But could mutate inside an infected human, and then take off. And be deadly. And if it gets inside enough humans it WILL mutate into something fierce. Remember, with an infinite number of trials, anything that can happen must happen.
Influenza is a virus, and there really isn't any defense against them. Can sometimes alleviate the symptoms, as with AIDS, or slow down the reproduction, as with herpes, but so far there's nothing truly effective.
And an airborne virus, which infects humans, which can live outside the human body, and is deadly could wreak havoc. And "bird flu" has the potential to be all of that, and will be all of that if enough people get it.
No flu, yet. No vaccine, yet. And no one knows how effective any vaccine would be.
